NZ Community & Voluntary sector Working Party Report 2000

In recognition of the need to restore a positive relationship, the NZ gobernment in 2000 established the Community & Voluntary sector working party to consider the scope of a proposed agreement between government and Iwi/Maori, community and voluntary organisations.


South Australian Government Compact on Volunteering
The SA compact document titled 'Advancing the Community Together' was launched on May 19, 2003 by the Premier of SA.

Valuing Volunteers Queensland initiative

Valuing Volunteers was released by the Qld government during National Volunteer Week 2007 and outlines the Qld government commitment to volunteering

Commonwealth Volunteers Protection Bill 2002
This bill was passed by the House of Representatives on December 4, 2002 and introduced to the Senate on December 5, 2002. More information about the Bill is available from the Parliamentary library (pdf)

Volunteers (protection from liability) Act 2002
The volunteers (protection from liability) Act is an initiative of the Western Australian state government. The Act aims to protect certain volunteers from liability, and instead transfer that liability to community organisations. Good Practice Funding website (NZ)

This website distils the funding principles and processes of government agencies in New Zealand and overseas. It is seen as a key tool for improving government agency funding practices to NGOs in order to help build the strength and capacity of the community and voluntary sector.

National Agenda on Volunteering
The National Agenda on Volunteering was produced during the International year of Volunteers, 2001 as a joint project between Volunteering Australia and Australian Volunteers International. The national agenda outlines key strategies that the voluntary sector identified as being critical development areas, and while not produced by government, it was presented to governments around Australia at the end of IYV in the hope that it will form a blueprint for future strategies.
