National
Agenda on Volunteering
The National Agenda
on Volunteering was produced during the International
year of Volunteers in 2001 as a joint project between
Volunteering Australia and Australian Volunteers International.
The National Agenda outlines key strategies that the
voluntary sector identified as being critical development
areas, and was presented to Governments around Australia
at the end of IYV.
National
Standards for involving volunteers in not-for-profits
During 2001, Volunteering Australia released
the National Standards for involving volunteers in
Not for Profit Organisations as well as a companion
Implementation Guide to the standards. The National
Standards are a must for all agencies involving volunteers,
and are available for purchase from Volunteering Australia
and volunteer centres throughout Australia. OzVPM
recommends that all not-for-profit organisations who
involve volunteers purchase a copy of the National
Standards
UK
Standards for the management of volunteers
While
not specifically an Australasian resource, the UK
National Occupational Standards for the recruitment
and management of volunteers in the United Kingdom
are well worth a look.
