Volunteer Co-ordinator

 

Medical research has successfully beaten most disease – it will beat cancer.

 

Cancer Council Queensland is dedicated to eliminating cancer and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, treatment, patient care, prevention and early detection. We are seeking a motivated person with a high level of initiative to join our Volunteer Services department as a Volunteer Co-ordinator .

 

The role: The successful candidate will be responsible for the co-ordination and support of the Brisbane administration and corporate volunteer programs. This includes training, support and supervision of volunteers, ongoing program management and evaluation. This role requires effective rostering of volunteers and task allocation on a daily basis, responding to volunteer enquiries, through to enrolment and post-orientation stage. Assisting with volunteer conferences, events, training and orientation programs and working collaboratively with Cancer Council Queensland staff, to ensure support of, and excellence in, the delivery of all Cancer Council Queensland activities is also required.

 

Key skills: You will have a minimum of two years experience working with volunteers and/or in an administrative team leader role demonstrating e xperience in training, supporting, leading and supervising a team. Proven ability to motivate others and use initiative is required. The successful candidate will have advanced communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and age groups. A demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and with minimal supervision is also necessary.
